ENCOUNTERS

In her travels around Mexico, Anna has encountered many talented people. Watching and learning from those she met, Anna began to draw the first sketches of her brand, IZAPA – a range of products for the hands, body and home, inspired by the talent and knowledge of the country’s artists, artisans, designers, writers and philanthropists.

THE PERFUMER

Robertet is one of the most prestigious French fragrances houses with more than 160 years of experience, based in the fragrance capital, Grasse.

The team of perfumers, led by Frenchman Jean-Pierre Enice, combine their knowledge of Mexican culture with a rich experience in French ‘haute parfumerie’, perfectly capturing the IZAPA brand to create a range of meticulously designed fragrances, with Anna’s vision.

THE WRITER

Laura Esquivel, the world-renowned Mexican novelist and screen writer, known particularly for her novel ‘Like Water for Chocolate’ has made notable contributions to Latin-American literature and now collaborates with IZAPA.

Laura brings life to each mystical IZAPA story with a series of poetic short texts, designed to inspire each reader to take a step into the world of IZAPA on a sensorial journey for each fragrance.

THE ARTISAN

For its distinctive brand identity, IZAPA collaborates with Cuernavacan Tlaquilo artist, Mario de la Rosa. His technique which was originally used to elaborate pre-Hispanic code, requires a fine and delicate brushstroke and precise attention to detail.

His work and that of previous generations of his family have earned them a gold medal award since 1997 for services to popular art in Mexico.

For IZAPA, Mario has developed the designs of each monochrome pattern that adorn the products of each of the three ranges.

THE ARTIST

Young and cutting edge, visual artist Orly Anan uses her outstanding talent to contribute to IZAPA.

The work of Orly focuses the fusion between ritual and contemporary art and her research has led her to explore the traditions of different countries, using these traditions as her main inspiration.

Her cinematographic sets have been seen at film festivals such as Cannes, Tribeca film festival, and Rhode Island International Film Festival as well as in many international magazine titles
